The 10th annual African American Children and Families Conference, "The Time is Now: Restructuring Our Mind and Spirit" will be a virtual one-day conference this year. The conference, sponsored by the UNI College of Education with support by the President's and Provost's offices, will offer a general public track and youth tracks. Registrants will receive webinar links upon registration. J. Luke Wood, from San Diego State University, will kick off the general public conference with a keynote session on "Black Minds Matter." Other topics include community development; the role of parents, educators and students; literacy; diversity issues in schools; and a panel discussion on perspectives and lives of Black girls.
