Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Spring Awakening is a rock musical adaptation of Frank Wedekind’s 1892 expressionist play about the struggles, frustrations, and thrills of the teen years.  The musical by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater follows a group of adolescent students as they wrestle with their burgeoning sexuality and the refusal of their parents and teachers to admit what’s happening.  It is a ground-breaking theatrical work in its use of contemporary music and choreography in the world of 19th century values and repression. With hope, reason, and passion Spring Awakening explores the conflicts between children and parents and double standards in morality and sexuality.  Contains adult themes, language, and brief nudity.

Directed by Jay Edelnant, musical direction by Rebecca Burkhardt, and choreography by Daniel Wells.
