Artist's Lecture: Mary Griep

Griep is a retired Associate Dean of Fine Arts at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. She will present a lecture about her work, which is associated with the UNI Gallery of Art exhibition titled "Anastylosis Project," which runs from January 8 through February 27. The exhibition represents nearly two decades of work inspired by 11th and 12th century sacred architecture from around the world and includes large-scale artworks of Notre Dame Cathedral of Chartres (France), the Hindu temple of Angkor Wat (Cambodia), the Mayan temple El Castillo (Mexico), and the artist’s newest work, the Baptistery of Saint John, in Florence (Italy).
