K-12 Educator Book Sale Pre-Sale

Rod Library is having a huge book and music sale just in time for your holiday shopping. On Saturday, December 3 from noon to 4:00 pm visit the Schindler lobby to choose from a wide assortment of children’s and young adult books, plus hundreds of LP records and a few CDs and music scores. There will be a pre-sale on Friday, December 2 from 4:00 to 6:00 for local K-12 educators

Open Access Week

University of Northern Iowa celebrates Open Access Week this year by hosting a campus Open Access Week Symposium during International Open Access Week in mid October. Open Access (OA) advances science and improves society as a whole by having free access to information and unrestricted use of electronic resources for everyone.

Come join us in Rod Library during October 24-27, 2022 for a series of events about open access resources, publishing, copyright, and other topics in scholarly communication! These events are open to all!

Rod Con 2023

Rod Library will host the 8th Annual Mini Comic-Con. There will be games, prizes, vendors, artists and costume contests—Family-friendly, free and open to the public. Follow us on Facebook or check back as the date gets closer for more details.  

Open Access Week

Rod Library has continued to support Open Access Week by promoting and maintaining UNI ScholarWorks. The purpose is to showcase the knowledge, creativity, and innovative spirit of the university in a free and open environment. Open Access week promotes free access for students to research through UNI Scholarworks website. Check out the Open Access Week schedule at https://scholarworks.uni.edu/oaweek/2022/ and take advantage of this opportunity from October 24th to October 27th!

Orchestrating Change

Orchestrating Change is a film about the world's only orchestra for people living with mental illness. Rod Library is partnering with Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, School of Music and the WCF Symphony Orchestra. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for various events in the lobby.

This is event is FREE of charge to the public.

The Challenges of Non-Native English-Speaking Faculty

Come to an interactive panel session in support of non-native English-speaking faculty. Panelists will share experiences, speak about challenges, and respond to questions from the faculty in attendance. The truth is that we all have accents! and hearing an unfamiliar accent may signal an opportunity for greater cultural awareness.
