"2019 Department of Art Faculty Exhibition"

The "2019 Department of Art Faculty Exhibition" is a formal presentation of recent accomplishments by the faculty in the UNI Department of Art and includes painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, sculpture, ceramics, photography, mixed media, performance and installation art as well as art history scholarship. The opening reception begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 in the Kamerick Art Building’s south lobby. All events are free and open to the public.

The Clothesline Project: Shirt Decoration

The Clothesline Project is an interactive event that raises awareness for violence against women, the LGBTQ* community and other marginalized populations. Members of the campus community who have been affected by violence, be it first-hand or otherwise, are invited to decorate a t-shirt with their thoughts, feelings, and supportive messages surrounding the topic of relationship violence or sexual assault.

Guest Master Class: Julia Pilant, horn

Monday, October 21, 2019 - 8:00 pm

Visiting artist Julia Pilant will present a horn master class. Originally from Springfield, MO, Julia Pilant is the Assistant Principal Horn with the Met Orchestra. Before joining the Met, Ms. Pilant was principal horn with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra for 10 years. She then returned to New York City where she performed frequently with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, New York City Opera, The Orchestra of St. Luke's, American Symphony Orchestra, The Stamford Symphony, and various Broadway shows. This event is free and open to the public.
