The "2019 Department of Art Faculty Exhibition" is a formal presentation of recent accomplishments by the faculty in the UNI Department of Art and includes painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, sculpture, ceramics, photography, mixed media, performance and installation art as well as art history scholarship. The opening reception begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 in the Kamerick Art Building’s south lobby. All events are free and open to the public.

The Clothesline Project is an interactive event that raises awareness for violence against women, the LGBTQ* community and other marginalized populations. On the day of Bearing Witness, t-shirts decorated by the student body are hung on clotheslines for all to see.

The 2019 Fast Forward Digital Media Event will provide students with training and information from media managers, production specialists, news directors and other media professionals. Sessions will address the latest developments and best practices in the media field. Ben Hagarty, keynote speaker, is a graduate of UNI's media program and now an LA-based video producer. More than 40 million international viewers have seen Beyonce through the lens of Ben Hagarty. Sessions are free to attend and a free box lunch is included if registered by Oct. 20. The final registration deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The UNI Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS), in collaboration with students from the Departments of Biology, Physics, and Earth and Environmental Science, will be hosting a “Halloween House.” UNI students will perform Halloween-themed science demonstrations and supervise hands-on activities in rooms such as the “Devil’s Den," “Tesla’s Revenge," “Fossil Gorge" and “Creepy Crawlers." This event is free and open to the public. Costumes are welcome. The activities are intended for elementary-age children, but can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
