This event will inaugurate a new series of panel discussions — “What Your Students Want You to Know” — with each one highlighting perspectives from a different student population. These panels give faculty the opportunity to hear student voices directly, and to reflect on issues of equity, diversity and inclusion at UNI. In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, this series will launch by featuring Indigenous/First Nation/Native American voices from our community.

Guest Recital: Jemal Tavadze, pianoGuest Recital: Jemal Tavadze, piano
Thursday, November 21, 2019 - 8:00 pm
Visiting artist Jemal Tavadze will present a piano recital. A native of Tbilisi, Tavadze is best known in his country as a theatre composer and a pianist performing a wide variety of solo and chamber music repertoire. He has performed as a soloist in the Big Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatory and has played solo recitals in Sweden, Germany, France, Italy and the US. As a composer, he has cooperated with the Tbilisi State Drama Academic Theatre, Youth Theatre, Akhmeteli Drama Theatre and others on music for the stage, and his music is still heard in many theatres of Georgia. This event is free and open to the public.
