"Paper Giants"

"Paper Giants" is an ongoing project between Ky Anderson, Meg Lipke and Vicki Sher. The artists met in New York where they live and work. They will present a public lecture on Thursday, January 23 at 6 p.m. in KAB 111, and an opening reception will follow. Sponsored in part by the Florence Hartwig Foundation and in association with the UNI Printmaking Labs. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday; noon to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and by appointment. Please note, the Gallery will be closed Jan. 20th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Free and open to the public.

"Empowered"

"Empowered" is a UNI Permanent Art Collection exhibition presented in the Mary Haskell-Hansen Room of the Gallery. It was co-curated by Dr. Elizabeth Sutton and Gallery Director Darrell Taylor. Featured artists include Gladys Nilsson, Birgit Skiold, Sister Mary Corita Kent, Yayoi Kusama, UNI art instructors and alumni as well as objects from UNI Special Collections. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday; noon to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and by appointment. Please note, the Gallery will be closed Jan. 20th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Free and open to the public. The exhibition will continue March 23 – April 18 and April 27 – May 9.

World War I : Lessons and Legacies

World War I : Lessons and Legacies

Rod Library will have a special exhibition exploring how the lessons and legacies of World War I continue to affect the United States today. World War I: Lessons and Legacies is on view Jan. 6-Feb. 15. The poster exhibition is courtesy of the Smithsonian and The United States World War I Centennial Commission. UNI Museum and Special Collections & University Archives will display artifacts supporting the exhibit. 
 
At noon Wednesday, Jan. 22, Emily Machen, history department, will present "Warriors, Caregivers, and Patriots: Women's Experiences in the First World War" followed by a Special Collections and University Archives open house from 1 to 3 p.m. At noon Wednesday, Jan. 29, Thomas Connors, history department, will present "For the Fallen: Military Cemeteries of the Western Front." Both presentations will be in the ScholarSpace, 301 LIB. The exhibition is on the main floor of Rod Library.

UNI Political Science faculty will walk you through how both the Democratic and Republican caucuses are conducted before you attend the real one. All Democratic and Republican campaigns will be invited to have tables outside the event so you can gather information about candidates. Food and drinks provided!
