BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICALBEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL
Tuesday, December 7, 2021 - 7:00 pm to Wednesday, December 8, 2021 - 10:00 pm
Long before she was Carole King, chart-topping music legend, she was Carol Klein, a Brooklyn girl with passion and grit.
Featuring a stunning array of beloved songs including “I Feel The Earth Move”, “One Fine Day”, “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, and “You’ve Got A Friend” – fans won't want to miss this Tony® and Grammy® award-winning triumph at the Gallagher Bluedorn.
She fought her way into the record business as a teenager, and by the time she reached her twenties, had the husband of her dreams and a flourishing career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock ‘n’ roll. But it wasn’t until her personal life began to crack that she finally managed to find her true voice.
“Beautiful” tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.

Interactive Digital Studies: A Decade of Digital Innovation at UNIInteractive Digital Studies: A Decade of Digital Innovation at UNI
Wednesday, December 8, 2021 - 4:00 pm
Interactive Digital Studies (IDS) at UNI is one of the most unique interdisciplinary programs in the country, and celebrates its 10th anniversary this academic year. Over the past decade, IDS has prepared students for a wide range of emerging digital careers students have never known about. To commemorate a decade of accomplishments, IDS students, faculty, and alumni will showcase the program on Dec. 8 in Rod Library from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitors can learn about the 10 different IDS “bundle” emphases (advertising, visualization, imaging, history, writing, computation, web development, music, video, and a proposed bundle in digital mapping). Exhibits will feature an Oculus Rift virtual reality demonstration, examples of “deep fake” video, creative photomontage, geolocation projects, digital archive projects, visual history timelines, and graphic technology products. Free stickers and other giveaways will be available. CHAS Dean John Fritch, who helped launch the program, will be one of the speakers during a short presentation between 4:30 and 5 p.m.
