"Too Bright for Our Infirm Delight"

In the Mary Haskell-Hansen Room. A UNI Permanent Art Collection exhibition co-curated by Art History instructor Josh Hainy and Gallery Director Darrell Taylor featuring female-identifying artists, indigenous artists, and artists of color such as Dawoud Bey, Russell T. Gordon, Marion Greenwood, Lee Krasner, Doña Rosa (or Rosa Real Mateo de Nieto), Melanie Walker, Marguerite Wildenhain, and Betty Woodman. All events are free and open to the public. We encourage the wearing of masks and social-distancing while in the Gallery. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and by appointment.

“2022 Department of Art Faculty Exhibition”

Thursday, January 20, 2022 - 10:00 am to Friday, February 25, 2022 - 5:00 pm

Opening Reception: 5 p.m., Wed., Jan. 26, Kamerick Art Building (KAB) south lobby. The exhibition is a formal presentation of recent accomplishments by the faculty in the UNI Department of Art and includes painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, sculpture, photography, video, mixed media, and installation art as well as art history scholarship. All events are free and open to the public. We encourage the wearing of masks and social-distancing while in the Gallery. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and by appointment.

Faculty Artist Recital: Randy Grabowski, trumpet

Tuesday, January 25, 2022 - 7:30 pm

Faculty artist Randy Grabowski, trumpet, will present a recital. This recital presents chamber music for trumpet with other instruments. In addition to faculty piano collaborator Sean Botkin, featured faculty performers include Sang Koh, violin (Morales "Passion Dance"); Bob Dunn, guitar (Schwabe "Three Picturesque Miniatures) - this is a world premier; Ann Bradfield, saxophones (Cohen "Chapter Three"); Amanda McCandless, clarinet and Kramer Milan, percussion (Freund "Rough and Tumble"); and Anthony Williams, trombone (two pieces by Paquito D'Rivera "Danzon" and "Afro"). This event is free and open to the public.
