Jesse Swan is a Professor of English in UNI’s Department of Languages & Literatures. After many years of writing and publishing literary history and criticism, he has recently turned to poetry, and his work has appeared as part of the Telepoem Booth project.

The in-person creative writing open mic begins at 7:00. Jesse Swan takes the stage at 7:30. His featured reading will also be live Zoomcast. Get the link at www.finalthursdaypress.com.

Emily Kriegel of Pella, IA presents an exhibition performance art, video, printmaking, and fiber art titled "Packaged in White." An opening reception will take place on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. in the KAB South lobby. During these same dates we will also continue with the UNI Permanent Art Collection exhibition titled "Too Bright for Our infirm Delight." Free and open to the public.

Observatory Show

Observatory Show

Thursday, April 28, 2022 - 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm

View the evening sky at the UNI Observatory.   Constellations and other interesting objects in the night sky will be pointed out, and objects may also be viewed through the UNI telescope.  Meet before 9 PM outside of MSH 137, near the polar bear.  The event starts promptly and there is no admission for late arrivals.  Electronic devices, such as cameras, smart phones, etc, must not be used during the show.  No food, or drink is allowed.  Masks are encouraged, particularly while inside of the observatory.  This event is free and open to the public.
