Panther Welcome Week: Day 2

Panther Welcome Week: Day 2

Thursday, August 18, 2022 - 12:00 am

The fun continues!

On Thurs. August 18th, start your morning off right with Breakfast at either Piazza or Rialto from 7:30 AM - 9 AM

At 10:30 AM - 11 AM, meet up with your Cat Crew leader from the previous day to receive your agenda for the day and get HYPED for PANTHER MAYHEM!

During Panther Mayhem from 11 AM - 11:45 AM in McLeod Center, your Panther Pride toolbox will be assembled! During this time, you'll learn the UNI Fight Song, the Interlude dance, and important cheers so that you are more than prepared for ALL your Panther Events!

From 12 PM - 2 PM head on over to West Gym & Lawther Field to enjoy your lunch* on Lawther Field before you head over to the Student Organization Fair. During the Student Organization Fair you will be able to learn what student organizations are available and how to join them. Make sure you complete your Panther FYI profile beforehand to have an idea of what organizations you may want to talk to with at the Student Organization Fair.

*Lunch is provided for all new students, including those without a meal plan.

After a great lunch, you'll have a chance to find your classes around campus from 2 PM - 3:30 PM.  All class buildings will be open for you to explore, along with Northern Iowa Guides and Cat Crew around to help you find your way.

Starting at 3 PM - 5 PM, make sure to visit UNI's campus library, Rod! Did you know that Rod Library has 4 floors of incredible resources? Don't let the "library" name fool you; there are more than just books and study spaces. Come explore and find out all about what we have to offer. Did we mention there will be prizes too?

At 4 PM you'll meet with your Cat Crew at the predetermined meeting location and head on over to Panther Big Top. You can also walk on over with the new friends you've made!

At Bender Field from 4 PM - 8 PM, enjoy delectable delights at Rialto and as you feast on the carnival fare, wander into bingo to win prizes for your room or time on campus, try your hand at bottle toss, or spin the wheel for a chance at snacks and beverages for the late night movie. Under the Panther Big Top, you can challenge a friend to a jousting match, play a round of mini golf, compete in lawn games or try a round of axe throwing. After you've had your fill, find time to get an airbrush tattoo, visit the balloon artist, lye-dye a shirt all while taking your stuff-a-panther with you through it all.

Event is open to all new students. On campus only activities include: stuff a panther and tye-dye a t-shirt.

Student Organizations Fair

Student Organizations Fair

Thursday, August 18, 2022 - 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

On August 18 (the Thursday before classes start), we will be hosting the student organizations fair for ALL new UNI students. As a reminder we will no longer be hosting a fair during summer orientation sessions or a separate fair after classes start in the fall. This new opportunity will give you a fantastic opportunity to showcase your organization to all of our new students. The new fair will be hosted during the Panther Experience student picnic. Your organization will be able to set up a table, have handouts, giveaways, displays and outdoor yard games. (No power will be provided). We encourage your members to wear your organization's gear and bring their Panther Spirit. Student Involvement and Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be providing music for this event as well. Register today!
