"Convergence and Creation of Design: The Elena Diane Curris Biennial Design Exhibition"

There will be an opening reception on Wed., Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. following a public lecture by James Ewald, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Ewald’s lecture titled “Triple Double: Independent Publishing, Sensory Experiences, and Visual Narratives” will take place in KAB 111. In addition to Ewald, exhibitors include the following: Jessica Barness, UNI alumna and Associate Professor in the School of Visual Communication Design at Kent State University; Soo Hostetler, UNI Associate Professor of Art in Graphic Design; Riva Nayaju, UNI Assistant Professor of Art in Graphic Design; and Dr. Sang-Duck Seo, Professor in Graphic Design and Media at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Part of the RSP Training series - Subawards and subcontracts - what’s the difference between the two? This Zoom session focuses on an overview of subawards and subcontracts – their elements and when to utilize a subaward versus a subcontract (pre-award) and once you’ve received the prime award (post-award) – roles & responsibilities, subaward invoice approval, subrecipient monitoring, and subaward amendments. The subject matter is geared towards researchers, project directors, and those newer to subawards; however, all are welcome. Registration is required.

QPR is a nationally recognized suicide prevention gatekeeper training.  This training is for the UNI campus community and helps all participants become knowledgeable in helping prevent a potential suicide.

In this 90 minute training you will learn:

  • How to recognize the warning signs of suicide
  • How to ask if someone is feeling or thinking about suicide
  • How to encourage them to get help
  • How to refer that person to the right support and care
