9:30am	Annual Economic Diversity & Inclusion Summit Annual Economic Diversity & Inclusion Summit Friday, October 21, 2022 - 9:30 am to 3:30 pm The annual Economic Diversity & Inclusion Summit, hosted by the University of Northern Iowa and Grow Cedar Valley, will be at Hilton Garden Inn in Cedar Falls on October 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., followed by a networking social. This year's keynote speaker is Kate Hightshoe, the assistant vice president and diversity officer for QCR Holdings, Inc. Dr. Kyle Christiason, who founded the inaugural UnityPoint Health LGBTQ+ clinic in Cedar Falls, will also be presenting. Breakout sessions include topics such as doing DEI every day, mental health issues in the workplace, welcoming new populations to our community and intentional DEI. 6:00pm	Guest Masterclass: Francine Peterson, bassoon Guest Masterclass: Francine Peterson, bassoon Friday, October 21, 2022 - 6:00 pm Visiting artist Francine Peterson will offer a bassoon masterclass. Peterson is an Affiliate Artist and Lecturer at Pacific Lutheran University. She is a member of the Northwest Chamber Orchestra and the Northwest Sinfonietta. Mrs. Peterson is an active freelance player in the Puget Sound area performing with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, the Seattle Symphony, the Seattle Opera, and the Fifth Avenue Theatre. She has performed with the Philadelphia String Quartet and has appeared on the Second City Chamber Music Series. She is a coach for the Seattle Youth Symphony and maintains a large private studio. This event is free and open to the public.
