"Convergence and Creation of Design: The Elena Diane Curris Biennial Design Exhibition"

There will be an opening reception on Wed., Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. following a public lecture by James Ewald, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Ewald’s lecture titled “Triple Double: Independent Publishing, Sensory Experiences, and Visual Narratives” will take place in KAB 111. In addition to Ewald, exhibitors include the following: Jessica Barness, UNI alumna and Associate Professor in the School of Visual Communication Design at Kent State University; Soo Hostetler, UNI Associate Professor of Art in Graphic Design; Riva Nayaju, UNI Assistant Professor of Art in Graphic Design; and Dr. Sang-Duck Seo, Professor in Graphic Design and Media at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Jennifer Schneiderman, Director of the UNI Counseling Center, will share some current trends and challenges with regard to supporting student mental health and what we as faculty can do to support the mental health of our campus community. She will provide an update on current resources, opportunities, and advice on how to best manage some of the day-to-day situations faculty and staff experience in supporting students.

The UNI Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS), in collaboration with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), Physics, Science Education, and Earth and Environmental Sciences students, will be hosting a “Halloween House” Friday, October 28, 4:30-7:30 PM, on the second floor of McCollum Science Hall.  

The event is free and open to the public.  The activities are intended for elementary age children, but can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
