International Education Week (Nov 14th-18th) is a fantastic opportunity to highlight what UNI is doing to create more diverse and globally minded individuals and recognize our international community and efforts on campus. International Education Week promotes international education efforts at UNI as well as highlighting our International and diverse community here on campus and in the larger Cedar Valley Community. To celebrate, the Office of International Engagement fills an entire week with incredible programs, speakers, workshops, and events! Check out our programming for this year below! A FUTURE WITHOUT VIOLENCE: CREATING HEALTHY/SAFE FAMILIES & COMMUNITIES

UNI’s College of Social & Behavioral Sciences, Educational Opportunity Center and Center for Urban Education are bringing together Cedar Valley elected officials, local leaders, and some of our best practitioners to review historical policies, unpack current realities and share their efforts at moving us towards a society without violence. Participants will be able to identify the root causes of violence, be able to inform and influence future policies, and create a culture to protect vulnerable communities. 

Including sessions by:

  • Waterloo City Council Task Force
  • Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging
  • UNI's Center for Violence Prevention
  • Refugee and immigration Panel
  • UNI's Department of Political Science
  • House of Hope

This event will be approved for six (6) Social Work CEU's
