UNI's Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) will be hosting “The Jean Project" Monday, February 27 - Friday, March 3. The Jean Project is a display of different sized jeans to bring awareness to body image and self-acceptance. “The Jean Project” encourages the UNI community to accept and celebrate the body they have. The perfect pair of jeans are the ones that fit you! The goal of the project is to promote body acceptance including body positivity, body neutrality, and body liberation for all. “The Jean Project" display will appear in the Maucker Union Monday, February 27 - Friday, March 3. The purpose of #YouMatterAtUNI is to increase the awareness of supportive resources, while celebrating the diversity of students and their experiences, in an effort to promote our students' sense of belonging on campus.
The week will consist of various events including (but not limited to) mental health trainings, lunch & learns, Instagram challenges and an Expressive Art/Media Competition.

UNI School of Music alumna Megan Grey (BM ‘16, MM ‘18) will offer an engaging Q&A style lecture discussing her career path since her time at UNI. A recent graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, contralto Megan Esther Grey returned to The Metropolitan Opera in the 21-22 season to cover both Suzuki and Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. She also performed the title role in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia with UNT Opera, sang Emilia in a concert production of Verdi’s Otello with the UNT Symphony Orchestra, and made her Washington Concert Opera debut as Mistress Bentson in Lakmé. In the summer of 2022, Ms. Grey joined the Santa Fe Opera, covering the role of Brangäne in Tristan und Isolde. During the 2022-2023 season, Ms. Grey made her Opera San Jose debut as Emeline in Alma Deutscher’s Cinderella and Mistress Quickly in Falstaff. She will also appear as the soloist in Mahler’s Rückert Lieder with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra in Cedar Falls, March 4 at 7 p.m. This lecture is free and open to the public.

Visiting artists the Rawlins Trio will present a recital. The Rawlins Piano Trio is a dynamic group of performers, teachers and scholars, distinguishing itself in arts outreach, masterclasses and a variety of performances. Trio members Ioana Galu, violin, Sonja Kraus, cello, and Susan Keith Gray, piano, are known to offer a diverse repertoire which ranges from standard works to new and undiscovered pieces deserving to be brought into the public light. This event is free and open to the public.
