NIBS Worldwide Case Competition ChampionshipNIBS Worldwide Case Competition Championship

Teams from 16 universities from around the world have been chosen from the qualifying round held in November 2022 to compete in the annual championship. The competition is hosted in different locations each year. The Univeristy of Northern Iowa is priviledged to host this year's event.

Susan Etscheidt, Department Head and Professor of Special Education, will moderate a discussion on ethical principles for the framework, design, and conduct of qualitative research, including how to conceptualize research questions, engage participants and their voices in the process, and avoid objectification and "othering", particularly in disability studies. Green Dot is an NISG-sponsored bystander intervention program focused on gender violence prevention. The goal of Green Dot is to decrease the likelihood of sexual assault, stalking, dating and domestic abuse. The Green Dot Student Overview training session is a presentation that introduces basic elements of Green Dot while using skill building activities to keep participants engaged. The basic elements of the presentation are to provide a new/different framework of bystander intervention, to create campus-wide interest and participation, and begin the process of changing behaviors. This Green Dot Overview is open to any students.
