Join us at the Iowa State Fair!
The University of Northern Iowa booth at the Iowa State Fair each year offers a plethora of opportunities to Panther fans, both old and new. Alumni can reconnect with the university, those interested in attending can find out more about UNI’s programs, sports fans can grab a poster or fall schedule, and everyone can learn more about the exciting things happening at UNI. And don’t forget to grab some new UNI gear from the UNI Bookstore while you’re there.

9:00 - 11:45 a.m. Panther Rotations: learn more about important resources and information across campus. Check out the website for rotation details.
11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Organization Fair and Lunch: Enjoy your lunch while you head over to the Student Organization Fair, located at Maucker Union Rooftop, Courtyard & Coffeehouse.
1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Transfer 101: Located at Schindler Education Center 220 Transfer students attend this crash course on all things UNI based on what previous transfer students wish they knew before classes started.
1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Panther 101 and Panther ToDo List & Panther Time: This time will be for you to complete the Panther To-Do list so you are ready before classes begin.
4:30 - 8:00 p.m. Panther Big Top: Located at Bender Field. Panthers of all ages, come enjoy all of the activities under the Panther Big Top, including jousting, lawn games and a mechanical bull.
8:15 - 11:00 p.m. Movie on the Lawn: Wind down from the day with an outdoor movie night on the big screen on Lawther Field. New students who attend will receive a free UNI blanket!

Faculty, Staff & Administrators Are All Welcome!
Our guest for Fall Faculty Workshop will be Thomas J. Tobin, a leading voice in technology-mediated education. Tobin is co-author of Reach Everyone, Teach Everyone, the essential book on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in higher education. According to Tobin,“although it is often associated with students with disabilities, UDL can be profitably broadened toward a larger ease-of-use and general diversity framework.”
The agenda for the day includes:
- 10:30am - an interactive session on what UDL is and how faculty members can adopt it
- 1:00pm - a true workshop during which you will craft an assignment for one of your courses that increases student choices about how they demonstrate their skills, without changing the criteria by which you grade the assignment.
As always, a featured attraction of FFW is the opportunity for fellowship as we return for a new academic year, and so we will also provide coffee, tea, pastries, and lunch.

Panther Marching Band CampPanther Marching Band Camp

The Panther Marching Band, the largest student organization on the UNI campus, combines Panther spirit, pride, musicianship, and more than 100 years of tradition.
