First Day of Classes events

7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. First Day of Class photos: Snap a picture on your way to class to commemorate your first day of class for the 2023-2024 academic year. Northern Iowa Guides on hand to take your picture and donuts for you to grab on your way to class. Also find Direction Booths outside of Commons, Curris Business Building, McCollum Science Hall, Rod Library & Union and West Gym to help make sure you are headed in the right direction to class.

Rainbow Reception

Tuesday, August 22, 2023 - 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Rainbow Reception is the annual welcome back celebration of queer and trans life at UNI, taking place this year at the Maucker Union on Tuesday, August 22, from 5-7 p.m. 

Anyone who identifies within the LGBTQ+ community or wishes to celebrate with our community may attend. We especially encourage new students to attend to learn about resources and meet peers. Allies are welcome to attend to welcome new and returning students.
