We are excited to welcome UNI families to campus for Family Weekend, September 29-October 1, 2023. This yearly tradition is a great opportunity to make memories with your student, meet other UNI families and learn more about the university. More information can be found at familyweekend.uni.edu
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UNI-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact email@example.com at least one week prior to the event.
This visit is intended for students who are attending UNI in Fall 2024.
Panther Visit Days are our most comprehensive visits, providing students and their families the opportunity to discover everything that UNI has to offer. You'll explore your major, meet current students, faculty and staff and learn more about the admissions process, scholarships and financial aid, campus involvement, student support service, and more.
Check out a hammock from Rod, grab some food from Maucker Union Food Court, and head out to Lawther Field to enjoy a lunchtime performance on the Carillon, the instrument within the Campanile, by our Student Guild of Carillonneurs every Friday this fall (weather permitting). Have a particular tune you want to hear us play? Request it on the School of Music website under UNI Guild of Carillonneurs.
AI for Humans - #1. Multiple Elephants in the Room
Friday, September 29, 2023 - 12:00 pm
In September the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will launch “AI for Humans,” a monthly forum - equal parts presentation & open conversation - that invites faculty to examine how we are navigating life & work & learning with AI. The aim for the first session is to consider the broader context(s) in which our ChatGPT challenges have arisen and will play out. In October the topic will be more narrowly focused on "the art of the prompt", and in November the topic will turn to matters of “security, policy, and academic ethics.”
