The University of Northern Iowa Gallery of Art will present the Fall 2024 Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) group exhibition from Monday, December 9 through Friday, December 20.
An opening reception will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, December 12, in the south lobby of the Kamerick Art Building.
The group exhibition will feature work from four students who are all completing both BFA and Art Education degrees at UNI.
Bella Epstein of Iowa City will present an exhibition of printmaking, performance and fiber art titled, “Bloodlines.” Epstein explores concepts of menstruation, woman’s work and sex education through the use of quilt motifs, educational zines and performance.
Jazz Jensen of Greeley, Colorado, presents “Femme and Frosting,” an exhibition of photography, performance art and 3D works. Jensen explores gender identity, their own story and feelings of their own gender.
Lia Nall of Fort Madison presents a mixed-media exhibition titled “Held in Light.” Through photography, painting and sculpture, Nall explores fleeting moments and quiet, overlooked scenes that convey themes of attachments, ownership and the handmade.
Makayla Polka of Carlisle presents “Let It Hurt, Dammit.” This is an exhibition of performance art, sculpture and installation that addresses the damage unprocessed grief inflicts on a person's memory and perception of self.
All events are free and open to the public. The gallery is located on the main floor of Kamerick Art Building, and its hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, December 20.
