This year we welcome Beth Ratway, a principal technical assistant consultant at American Institues for Research (AIR) as our keynote to discuss and explore: 

• How civic understanding and democratic participation are more essential now than ever.
• How civic principles are embedded in the new Iowa Social Studies Standards.
• The process through which standards are created and how to get involved.

New this year! To accomodate teachers with the day off we have the option to bring children ages 4+ (limited capacity). Children's programming will be held in the same area as the event under the supervision of UNI students and the TEACH Studio coordinator. Registration is required in advance.

For school leaders and in-service teachers in addition to UNI faculty, staff and pre-service teachers. LUNCH PROVIDED. Registration encouraged before October 28th to account for food ordering.
