Visiting artist Alexander Ferkey will present a double bass recital. An avid recitalist, Ferkey has given solo concerts across the US, UK, Bulgaria, and has recently completed a tour of Northeast Brazil presenting masterclasses and performances. Currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Alex Ferkey has worked as an educator throughout the United States and United Kingdom. As a passionate supporter of New and underperformed music, he frequently collaborates with young composers and has just completed a recording of chamber works by composer Bernard Van Dieren with the UK-based Gemini Ensemble. This event is free and open to the public.
