Sigma Phi Epsilon is hosting a Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) training and Self Defense Class in collaboration with the UNI Center for Violence Prevention and UNI Police Department. Attendees will have the option to choose between these two trainings.
The MVP Program inspires leadership by empowering individuals with tools to lead and with concrete options to effect change in their peer cultures, as well as with younger students and others. It views all individuals not as potential perpetrators or victims, but as empowered bystanders who can recognize and confront harassment and abuse before, during and after the fact.
UNI Police Officers will lead a informational class on self defense with an opportunity to learn simple techniques that will allow you to avoid danger when possible or escape as a last option.
