Since opening in 1973, the Industrial Technology Center has prepared generations of leaders and educators in applied technology fields. Today, the facility is home to the dynamic Department of Applied Engineering and Technical Management, boasting highly successful programs in construction, manufacturing, graphic technology, electrical and automation engineering, materials science, and technology education.
With support from the Iowa legislature and our generous donors, the $43.9 million modernization of the newly recast Applied Engineering Building represents a major step forward in the University of Northern Iowa’s preparation of leaders in high-growth and in-demand careers throughout Iowa.
