Return of the BellsReturn of the Bells
Monday, May 1, 2023 - 12:00 am to Friday, May 5, 2023 - 11:59 pm
The Campanile, one of the University of Northern Iowa’s most iconic structures, will soon ring out with a newly restored set of bells. Refurbished by The Verdin Company of Cincinnati, the set of 46 bells will return to campus on Monday, May 1 along with nine new bells, equipping the Campanile carillon with a vastly expanded musical range.
Beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 1, Panther students, alumni and friends in the community are welcome to visit campus and get a once-in-a-lifetime photo with the bells before they are re-installed. The Campanile’s first 14 bells will be on display on the ground for the public to see up close, something that hasn’t happened since the Campanile was originally built in 1926.
Many of the original bells were dedicated to various groups, so the public is encouraged to come get pictures with their bell; citizens of Cedar Falls, faculty, wartime heroes, teachers, and many others have dedicated bells that will be on display. Learn more about the Campanile's renovation and how you can support the project.

The Book of Job as Proto-SatireThe Book of Job as Proto-Satire
Thursday, May 4, 2023 - 5:00 pm
Drawing on the work of literary critics such as Northrup Frye and Douglas Muecke, this lecture argues that the Book of Job exhibits many of the characteristic features of satire: an object of attack, ironies, parody, distortions, and ridicule, along with extensive wordplay and ambiguity. The presentation will focus first on how the prologue (Job 1-2) establishes the necessary conditions for a satire, and then highlight a few of the satirical elements throughout the rest of the book.

Each week is different at the market! You can search for a vendor or products at the market HERE. When you search for a vendor you can see the dates they will be at the market. Check out our MAP that also shows vendors attending each week!
College Hill Farmers Market is a producer only market offering quality products including fresh seasonal produce, healthy snacks, baked goods, eggs, honey and more. Vendors may only sell items that have been raised, prepared, or produced by the vendor or their family members.
