The UNI Department of Communication and Media, in partnership with the Hearst Lecture Series, will host guest speaker Kathy Bresnahan, author of “The Miracle Season,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 17 in the Lang Hall Auditorium on UNI’s campus.

A former varsity coach at Iowa City West High, Bresnahan’s book tells the true story of an Iowa high school’s volleyball team that struggles to continue with their season following the tragic death of their star player.

Bresnahan’s talk will explore the process of writing a bestselling book and developing that story into a major motion picture starring Academy Award winners Helen Hunt and William Hurt.
