The Center for Civic Education will be holding book discussion groups about Diana E. Hess and Paula McAvoy's “The Political Classroom: Evidence and Ethics in Democratic Education,” which provides a "coherent plan for providing students with a nonpartisan political education and for improving the quality of classroom deliberations" based on "a large mixed-method study about discussions of political issues within high school classrooms." 

Five facilitated discussion groups, with free books for the first 20 enrollees, are offered at a variety of times. Each group will meet three times. Click here to register for a reading group.
