Faculty Free Speech Club: Navigating Choppy Waters: Key Legal Issues College Faculty Need to Know
Would you like to exercise your free speech rights with colleagues in an informal setting? Dave Glenn-Burns, our host from ThreeHouse, has offered to provide this opportunity, along with coffee and cookies in a cozy campus-adjacent atmosphere.
There is no set agenda, and conversation can grow organically, but on March 7 our point of departure will be to review the work of the Higher Education Committee of the Iowa House of Representatives. On March 28 we will launch with an overview of Kent Kauffman’s new book, Navigating Choppy Waters: Key Legal Issues College Faculty Need to Know.
This is not a “park & bark” session, but an all-too-rare opportunity to listen, to be heard, and to imagine futures. If you haven’t been there before, ThreeHouse is at 2422 College Street, just across the street from the president’s house. Dave says: “Go to the cannons in front of Lang Hall, imagine yourself as a cannon ball and launch yourself. You’ll land at our front door!”
