Red Watch Band Training - Fraternity and Sorority Life

Sunday, February 23, 2020 - 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm

The Office of Student Life, in partnership with the Student Wellness Services, provides an interactive alcohol education and bystander training to all members of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL). This training, called Red Watch Band, is adapted from the program provided by Stony Brook University and seeks to:

  • Promote a student culture of kindness, responsibility, compassion and respect.

  • Provide students with knowledge, awareness, and skills to prevent toxic drinking deaths.

  • Build confidence in students to intervene on behalf of another through bystander training.

The Red Watch Band training symbolizes that the FSL community bands together to watch out for one another when every second countsIt is an expectation of all FSL members to participate once during their time at UNI. This includes new members of each chapter and active members who have not previously participated.
