Opening Reception: Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. The following students are pursuing Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in their respective emphasis areas and are exhibiting new artwork to fulfill graduation requirements: Allie Christisen of Bettendorf, IA, will present a printmaking exhibition titled "Not Gross: An Exhibition of Self-Portraits"; Andrew P. Dickerson of West Des Moines, IA, will present a photo exhibition titled "Something More"; Abigail Rose Hedley of Dubuque, IA, will present a sculpture exhibition titled "Dwelling"; Rachel Kopriva of Traer, IA, will present a painting exhibition titled "Impressions"; Whitney McGill of Merrillville, IN, will present a painting exhibition titled "Our Hair is our Crown"; and Joel Wisner of Mason City, IA, will present an exhibition of drawing and printmaking titled "Feeds." All events are free and open to the public.

Phase One is an in-person, 1.5 hour training that provides basic knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community, establishes a common vocabulary for participant use and defines what it means to be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. The Safe Zone Ally program is a campus-wide opportunity designed to support the continued growth of an inclusive campus community. The program supports the university's value of cultivating a caring and diverse campus community that values respect for all people, the open and free exchange of ideas and responsible and ethical behavior. Phase Two is scheduled for two hours, providing a deeper exploration of current issues, privilege and intersectionality, as well as challenging participants to think critically about their roles as allies. Participants in Phase Two training are given the opportunity to become Safe Zone Ally certified by signing an ally agreement stating their confidence in their ability to be a knowledgeable, responsible and committed ally. Join the Theatre Department and the Center for Genocide and Holocaust Education for "He Said/She Said: A Dual Lecture on Pre-War Berlin and the Musical Cabaret." Steven Gaies, CEHE and Amy Osatinski, theatre department, will present a lecture that intermingles the two topics, providing background and context for the theatre department's production of "Cabaret." Patrons are encouraged to attend the lecture and then walk across the courtyard and see the show. The lecture will be held at 6 p.m. and conclude at approximately 6:45 p.m. Doors open and the opening act for "Cabaret" are at 7 p.m. in the Strayer Wood Theatre.
